Volunteers Drivers required to support local community transport schemes
We recruit car volunteers to help transport people to and from health appointments, occasional shopping or social trips.Volunteers expenses when using their own vehicles are recovered through a mileage charge from the user which assist incoevring items such as vehicle running costs and fuel, but the volunteer's time is entirely voluntary and free.
Additionally we also assist in the recruitment of volunteer minibus drivers, who support the provision of local transport services for a number of organisations right across Richmondshire. Minibus drivers undertake MiDAS (Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme) training opportunities.

All of our volunteer drivers undergo a DBS check, are supplied with an information handbook and undertake an induction and awareness session. Ongoing support for all our volunteers is maintained directly by RCVA through occasional volunteer social get-together's and by providing skill and awareness opportunities such as Emergency First Aid courses. Our most recent free training, funded through a Big Lottery volunteer support grant, allowed 26 attendees to update their resuscitation techniques and gain a basic level First Aid Certificate.
